Description & Location:

As its name suggests, The Old Smithy Tea Rooms are housed within a former Blacksmiths, in a building that is over 250 years old. The café is centrally located on the village green, adjacent to the Bull's Head. Ed and Ruth Driscoll created the tea rooms just over fifteen years ago, and although Ed sadly passed away recently, the Smithy continues to operate and is now run by their two sons.

The Smithy has a good reputation for serving excellent food. The specialties include the renowned Smithy's all-day Breakfast and a selection of delicious home-made cakes. Ideal for walkers, cyclists and other visitors to Monyash. The slogan 'Muddy Boots Welcome' says it all. There is also a musical theme to the place, the vast array of musical instruments on the walls are a reminder of Ed's folk band days.

With a recently acquired full drinks licence, there is now a wide range of wines, spirits and worldly beers on offer, to suit all tastes.

The addition of an extension has increased the capacity to meet the popular demand.
