Top place to take a break. But sadly I have to report that F---ing Tommy Gussons Tanker driver on the road Harold Woods onwards for 50+ years has pass on Mon 15th Feb 2016 after a heart attack at home.Tommy stopped at the Saltbox most of this time if passing.Having been of retired a few months at 74years.We called at the Saltbox in my car recently and made very welcome by the great staff and the Boss. R.I.P Tommy Pennington. His pal Roger Park.Retired Ex Solvay Interox (Tankfreight)

I have been using this café for nearly 40 years, and it has never let me down. Good, well cooked breakfasts. Good value, clean, and quick service.

Have ate here a few times when in the area. The food is well cooked and plentiful, very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, overnight parking for hgv is available at £10-14 depending on the food voucher.
Menu choice is superb, ranging from the usual sausage & chips etc down to more family friendly favourites steaks, lasagne, pies etc.
Plenty of parking for both cars and hgvs, Well worth a visit.
